Next Meeting – Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Arlington Economic Development, 1100 North Glebe Road, Suite 1500, Arlington, VA 22201

Summer 09 Release Andres Gluecksman with Astadia

  • Sites Update – check out crocs ideas, dell and Starbuck’s as the leaders in Ideas as a functional SalesForce application.
  • Graphs – Two new types have come about – Pipeline Funnel and Donut
  • Campaign Members – this is a standard object now
  • Organization Wide E-mail is now possible.
  • IPhone – Improvements made in terms of calendar views, custom/standard list views, IPhone lead conversion and Visual Force Mobile 2.0

Case Study:  Jeff Davidson with GTSI

Great summary of GTSI by Jeff Davidson.

GTSI’s Facebook Connector did not work, GTSI does contacts grading which means who in the company knows the contact.  They have also initiated Opportunity Genius which has allowed them the ability to match the opportunities together based on 10 related criteria.  They use Opportunity Close Date alert, and a survey tool that Astadia built for them a few years back.  GTSI has also integrated their SalesForce with Cisco and they talk with each other to understand the “my calls today” volume of their sales reps.  GTSI uses Enzigma for FTP Attachments

Advanced Analytics / Reporting Snapshots – Andres Gluecksman with Astadia

Advanced analytics are driven by reports and are the source of the snapshot.  You have to use a Tabular or Summary report format.  You may compare record volumes, extend a security model creatively, and increase the performance of reports and dashboards.

Email Marketing Best Practices -- Jeff Renaud with Exact Target

Jeff did a great job of sharing his insight with many years of experience in e-mail marketing.  Please contact Jeff if you have any particular questions or needs at jrenaud@exacttarget.com.

Welcome to the new blog for the DC Metro Users Group!

With a new leader comes a new blog.  We decided to retire the old "Reston" URL and start fresh with a name and address that reflects the group's location.

If you're new to the group, please sign up  so that you can stay informed of  meetings and events. Just use the simple form on the left under Join Now! and select "Wash, DC Metro" from the pull-down menu. If you've been on the mailing list in the past, no need to join again.

We hope you will get involved!
