Force.com - What's all the fuss about?
Come along to the next Salesforce Financial Services User Group to see how your peers are using the Force.com to develop and deploy their own applications on Salesforce.
Force.com - What's all the fuss about?
Wednesday June 4th, 3.30-5pm, followed by drinks
Salesforce.com office, Tower 42, 25 Old Street, London, EC2N 1HQ
Salesforce is now a lot more than an internet CRM application: the Force.com offers you a platform for the development of on-demand business applications of all kinds - including CRM - and it is available to you now.
The session will include:
- Case study from a leading Corporate Bank about their use of Apex, Visualforce and the new Salesforce components
- Case study: Phill Spalding (Allianz) will demonstrate his Net Promoter scoring application built using Force.com
- Results from the User Group Platform Survey
- lots of discussion and, of course, drinks afterwards.
Please confirm your attendance in advance to enable us to organise the logistics and badges.
If you are willing to share present your experiences at any of our user group sessions, please let Jonathan or Kamaljit know. From past experience, this is always the most useful part of these sessions, so the more input we can get from you, the better!
See you soon
Kamaljit & Jonathan.

Save The Dates!
A small number of us met up last week to put together an agenda of topics that we think you will find exciting and informative. Please save the dates for these sessions, we think they will be extremely invaluable to both seasoned Salesforce users as well as relatively new users.
- Salesforce Security - March 26th, 3.30-5pm
(venue tbc - London)
A "Best Practices" presentation by a Salesforce security expert, with recommendations to ensure we are suitably protected against security threats. The aim is to share best practices for raising awareness about phishing and security, provide educational content on how to defend against these attacks, and show us how to quickly and easily increase the security of our Salesforce deployment. - Platform Usage - June 4th, 3.30-5pm
(venue tbc - London)
Force.com provides you with a Platform as a Service (PaaS), enabling your developers to create and deliver any kind of business application, entirely on-demand. Do you want to know more and see how other organisations are really using this in real-life situations? - Adoption...... an Ongoing Challenge - July 9th
The adoption of new technologies and processes is always challenging so we are looking for users who are willing to share their experiences in this area. If you feel that you have some success stories to share, please let me know. We would love to hear from you. - SF New Functionality - what's popular? - Sept 18th
Review of recently released features with user presentations on those that they really liked and/or used extensively. If you would like to present on this topic, please let me know. - Campaign Management - details nearer the time
Please save these dates in your diary. If you are also willing to present your experiences on any of these topics, please let Jonathan or I know. From past experience, this is always the most useful part of these sessions, so the more input we can get from you, the better!
best regards
Kamaljit & Jonathan.

August Meeting 2007 – Mark Abramowitz from SFDC Product Development
We had a great turnout for our second meeting. Out of the 22 responses we had 18 attendees which was fantastic!
Mark’s presentation (which we unfortunately cannot put on here due to salesforce’s regulations) was informative and useful and from the feedback we received so far everyone took something away from it.
We were told in the feedback that a meeting this technical all the time is not what you all want but that it was good to see some of the product roadmap, especially the parts that related specifically to Financial Services.
Any ideas anyone has about future agenda’s please send them in. We would rather have too many than not enough! My email is hannah.cleaver@travelex.com and anything you would like to say about the user group and/or the meetings is welcomed.
The next meeting is set for Thursday October 11th and will be at the IOD Hub.
The rough agenda will be:
- Highlights of Dreamforce - a few of our members are attending dreamforce so it will be good to hear about it from their perspective
- Winter 08 Roadmap - Jonathan is going to give us an update on what will be coming in the Winter '08 release
- Roundtable - Discussion on Usage and User Adoption.
Details will be sent out shortly and we hope to see you all there.
August Meeting
Hi,
Mark Abramowitz from the Salesforce.com financial services product management team will be attending our next user group meeting. Mark will be presenting the product roadmap in how it relates to the financial services sector. He is also looking to hear what common challenges our financial services customers are facing and what you would like to see in future releases.
We think this will be a great opportunity to meet directly with product management and get your voice heard. Please come prepared with questions and or challenges for Mark. If there are specific items/questions you would like covered in the meeting, please let us know and we will get those items to Mark in advance.
Schroders has graciously allowed us to use their facilities for this meeting. Thank You Kamaljit!!
