Save the Date -- Thursday October 2nd -- 1st Meeting

Hello and welcome to the New York Financial Services User Group!

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kara Freeman and I am very excited to be leading this group. I am a Vice President at Cowen and Company, currently heading up the IT Project Management team. I was responsible for bringing SalesForce.com into our firm and worked closely with the business representatives and our IT staff to ensure a smooth and effective rollout of SFA. We are currently working on several projects on Force.com and we are excited to launch a new Customer Portal. Cowen has been using SalesForce, with great success, for over 2 years and I have been involved in every step.

I hope that this group will provide us all with an open forum to discuss strategies, implementation details, and best practices. The success of this group will be based on the participation of all involved and I welcome comments and suggestions on meeting topics.

Our first meeting is scheduled for Thursday October 2nd starting at 6pm (location TBD). In this meeting, SalesForce will be discussing the upcoming Winter ’09 Release as well as DreamForce. And hopefully we can come up with a list of topics for future meetings.
