A great turnout at American Century
I want to thank everyone who attended our September 17th meeting at American Century. Brian Tolander from ACI was a great host at a great facility with easy parking. We had about 54 people attending the event which is great for a fledgling group. THANK YOU BRIAN.
In the light of thanking Brian's, I want to also extend a big THANK YOU to Brian Connell from Astadia for a great lunch and an insightful presentation from Chris Thompson during our Mini Admin Class. Chris had some insight for us about some tips and tricks that I was able to come back and deploy almost immediately. If you are having challenges with your SFDC launch Astadia is one of their largest partners. It was apparent that they know what they are talking about. You can reach Brian Connell at bconnell@astadia.com.
Additional thanks go out to Rob Hampton, Danny Wastler, Jason Kort, Tim Poolman, and Dixie Larson for their help in leading our small group discussions. I will post the notes from each group as soon as I receive them.
I also want to comment about the great support we received for this meeting from the SalesForce.com team. Tim Poolman, Dixie Larson, and Tyler Harnish were all from SFDC to support our event.
There are about 20 people (best that I can tell) from the area going to DreamForce in November. Our plan is to come back from DreamForce and have a meeting in mid November. Watch the blog and your email for the date, time and location. Of course those of you attending DreamForce be sure to check back to the blog for details on where we will be connecting for a little social time.
That is all for now... but keep your eyes peeled for more details and as always feel free to drop me an email or call.
Best wishes,

And thanks to Gina Danner for heading up the KC User Group!
This is a great start for our local salesforce community.
Here are some updates I promised the group.
Storage Enhancements coming Winter 09 Release (October):
Winter '09 introduces cost-effective improvements to storage management.
Salesforce has increased default file storage limits and made it more economical
to store files as attachments, in the Documents tab, or in Salesforce Content.
Previously, all organizations received general storage, complimentary
document storage, and if applicable, Salesforce Content storage.
Now, Salesforce storage is divided into two categories: data storage and file storage.
File storage includes files in attachments, the Documents tab, and Salesforce Content.
Data storage includes all other records.
Existing customers will receive data storage and file storage
amounts equal to TWICE your general storage.
For example, if your organization had 1 GB of general storage in
Summer '08, in Winter '09 you now have 1 GB of data storage and
1 GB of file storage for 2 GB of total storage.
To view your organization's storage usage, click Setup ➤ Data Management ➤ Storage Usage.

Many, many kudos to the people using and driving adopton of SFDC here in this area. The Kansas City area is a dynamic area and SFDC has a huge future here because the companies using SFDC are progressive and excited about what they can do with their salesforce.com crm platform. Success is team effort and this users group really exemplifies team success!
