Link to Multimap
Link Multimap to a salesforce.com Account or Contact. Clicking on the link will show you a map of the selected address, saving you time with looking it up in a street directory.
To setup
A new Custom Formula of type text will need to be created for the Account and/or Contact.
Copy and Paste the appropriate code from the attached document into the formula.
Multimap requires the use of a two digit country code, for example US (for the Unitied States), AU for Australia. Many customers prefer to have the full country code on file for mail purposes. This will require the case component of the formula to be amended to match all country code/description pairs that are likely to be required.
For the Contacts Layout , use: HYPERLINK("http://www.multimap.com/map/places.cgi?db=" & CASE({!MailingCountry},"United States","US", "Australia","AU","AUS","AU", "New Zealand", "NZ" ,{!MailingCountry}) &"&addr2="&{!MailingStreet}&"&addr3="&{!MailingCity}&"&state="& {!MailingState} & "&pc=" & {!MailingPostalCode} , "Multimap")
For the Account Layout , use: HYPERLINK("http://www.multimap.com/map/places.cgi?db=" & CASE({!BillingCountry} ,"United States","US", "Australia","AU","AUS","AU", "New Zealand", "NZ" , {!BillingCountry}) &"&addr2="&{!BillingStreet}&"&addr3="&{!BillingCity}&"&state="& {!BillingState} & "&pc=" & {!BillingPostalCode} , "Multimap")
Comments
The billing address in an Account may be a post office box. Which is no good to Multimap. So I put an IF clause in to check if there is a shipping address before there is a billing address.
IF(ISNULL({!ShippingCity}),HYPERLINK("http://www.multimap.com/map/places.cgi?db="
& CASE({!BillingCountry},"Australia","AU","AUS","AU", "New Zealand", "NZ" ,{!BillingCountry})
&"&addr2="&{!BillingStreet}&"&addr3="&{!BillingCity}&"&state="& {!BillingState} & "&pc=" & {!BillingPostalCode} , "Multimap"),HYPERLINK("http://www.multimap.com/map/places.cgi?db="
& CASE({!ShippingCountry},"Australia","AU","AUS","AU", "New Zealand", "NZ" ,{!ShippingCountry})
&"&addr2="&{!ShippingStreet}&"&addr3="&{!ShippingCity}&"&state="& {!ShippingState} & "&pc=" & {!ShippingPostalCode} , "Multimap"))
