Inaugural "Nonprofits Wisconsin" User Group - Friday, January 30th

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a healthy and relaxing Holiday.

My name is Steve Hasbrook.  I am Director of Sustainability/Brady Corp. Foundation at the Brady Corporation in Milwaukee (www.bradycorp.com, www.foundation.bradycorp.org).  I also run a small community Foundation with my wife called the Porcupine Foundation (www.porcupinepower.com).  In both roles I have utilized SFDC via the 1% nonprofit program.  I would describe myself as an "engaged user" in both roles (as opposed to a "power user").

After attending for-profit User Group meetings in Chicago and Milwaukee, I realized that the needs and challenges of the non-profit SFDC community - while similar - are definitely unique.  I also realized that the networking and idea sharing provided by bringing similar users together - like the sessions organized at the annual Dreamforce User Conference - are invaluable to the nonprofit user community.  Therefore, I contacted SFDC to find a local nonprofit user group.  I discovered that even though there are > 50 nonprofit implementations of SFDC in the state of Wisconsin, there is not a nonprofit User Group.  Therefore, I offered to facilitate one.  I would be thrilled if you could join us and help create an active, engaged, and action-oriented SFDC user group for nonprofits in the Wisconsin area.

Here are the details for our Inaugural Meeting:

Date:  Friday, January 30th
Time:  8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. (refreshments, networking begin at 8:00 a.m.)
Place:  Brady Corporation World Headquarters - 6555 W. Good Hope Road, Milwaukee
Agenda

  1. Introductions:  Name, Organization, Role, SFDC Implementation
  2. Like most/like least about SFDC
  3. "Most interersted in learning about.........................?"
  4. Preferred format for User Group meetings:  users only, users and vendors, guest speakers, etc.
  5. Preferred logistics:  days/time/location/length/frequency, etc.
  6. Topic(s) for next meeting

I look forward to meeting you at our first meeting at the end of the month.  Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns with the proposed agenda.

Steve
