NYC
The New York User Group needs a leader!
After two outstanding years leading the NYC User Group, John Merrill is ready to pass the baton. Unfortunately for us, the responsibilities of his day job have expanded and he no longer has the bandwidth to plan the meetings and manage the group. Please join me in extending a big "Thank You" to John for his efforts since 2005. He's done a tremendous job and leaves the group in a great position for the next leader(s).
If you are interested in a leadership role, please contact me and we can discuss what's involved. The NYC group is our biggest in the world - (co-)leading it is a prime position!

November follow-up
The November meeting was by far one of the more engaging. Thanks to everyone for taking part and thanks to ShareMethods and BlueWolf for sponsoring.
Some follow-up items:
Cost Effective S-Control Development Options : Bluewolf wants to let you know that they are teaching a one-day class on S-Controls the first week of December at our New York City, Authorized Training Center. The class is on December 4th. Below is a short description of the curriculum.
"Learn to create custom Buttons and S-Controls fueled by the AJAX Toolkit. In this instructor led classroom course, students learn through lecture and hands-on exercises how to extend core Salesforce application functionality by building and integrating custom Buttons and S-Controls into their Salesforce CRM deployment." SECURITY THREAT: As most (if not all) of you have already heard there was a security threat at SFDC that should be taken seriously. The best source of information on how to best protect your Org.'s data is located here: https://trust.salesforce.com/security.html#identity. Take the time review the information and if you have any questions reach out to your CSM.
Think Global, Act Local: The local usergroup has lots of talent that might fill the gaps not provided by larger AppExchange Partners.

NEXT MEETING: Looking at Mid February for our next meeting. If you have any specific topics let me know and will make sure to arrange for Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to share the knowledge.
Cheers, John
