The themes for our next meeting are effective sales forecasting and lead nurturing. We will feature presentations from two Salesforce.com partners who offer AppExchange applications relevant to these important topics. This meeting will include the following presentations:

  • Effective Sales Forecasting, presented by David Belove, Cloud9 Analytics.
  • Lead Nurturing , presented by Gurpreet Bains, Computer Information Technology Corp.

David will discuss the various forecasting methods Salesforce users typically employ and then he'll also demonstrate Cloud9's Pipeline Accelerator for Salesforce for more effective forecasting. Bring your pipeline management and forecasting questions. David will bring the door prizes!

Gurpreet will discuss automated lead nurturing using intelligent lead scoring and rules-based lead assignment. Gurpreet will also describe how CITC's NurtureMyleads works with Salesforce to automate personalized messages based on advanced demographics and lead behaviors. A white paper regarding leads nurturing concepts will also be provided by Gurpreet.

Meeting Notes from August 25, 2009

At our August 25, 2009, Phoenix User Group meeting, our meeting theme was Partner Collaboration using Salesforce.com, and we discussed three topics: 1) Partner Relationship Management (PRM) Partner Portal, 2) Salesforce to Salesforce, and 3) Salesforce CRM Content.

Adi Kuruganti, Product Manager from Salesforce.com, presented remotely an overview of Partner Portal, as well as Salesforce to Salesforce, a relatively new feature in Salesforce.com. Adi then followed with a demo of Salesforce to Salesforce.

David Gildar, from DFG Solutions, followed with an overview and demo of Salesforce CRM Content.

Our next meeting is planned for sometime in November; however,a firm date is not set yet. I welcome suggestions for volunteer speakers or potential presentation topics for our next meeting. Meeting Notes - April 23, 2009

At our April 23, 2009, Phoenix User Group meeting, we had three good presentations on current topics related to Salesforce.com.

Barry Duncan, from iLinc, presented an overview of iLinc, a web conference tool offered through AppExchange. Barry demonstrated how iLinc is integrated with Salesforce.com contacts, and how iLinc can track which contacts participated in a webinar.

Dan England presented a functional overview of his company's award-winning AppExchange data integration application named Informatica On Demand. Informatica On Demand provides configurable data integration between Salesforce.com and other external databases, such as Oracle and SQL Server.

Jesse Lorenz, platform evangelist from Salesforce.com presented a basic introduction to VisualForce for customizing the Salesforce.com user interface. Jesse highlighted the benefits of VisualForce as a superior customization tool when compared to the old method of developing S-Controls.

Meeting Notes - Jan. 22, 2009

At our January 22, 2009, Phoenix User Group meeting, we had three good presentations on current topics related to Salesforce.com.

Brad Phillips, from Salesforce.com, did a great job as usual presenting an overview of Force.com Sites, which was unveiled at DreamForce.  Brad also followed later with a brief preview of key new features coming out in the Spring '09 release.

Brian Falkner presented a functional overview of his company's award-winning AppExchange application called BigMachines Configured Price Proposals (CPP). BigMachines appears to be a strong add-on to Salesforce.com for organizations selling complex configurable products.

Zack Cramer presented SalesGenie.com inside Salesforce.com, their new AppExchange offering which provides contact names for the small to medium sized business market and the consumer market. Zack highlighted how Salesgenie can push purchased leads seamlessly into Salesforce.com.

Meeting Notes - Oct. 21, 2008

At our October 21 Phoenix User Group meeting, we had a lively but small group turnout again. My thanks go to Joy Daniel from Morris, Hall & Kinghorn (Law Firm), for hosting our meeting at her facility. Also I thank Brad Phillips, from Salesforce.com, for his presentation of "Winter '09 New Feature Highlights", and Ethan Zoubek, from ExactTarget, for his presentation on "1:1 Marketing with Email". Our next meeting is planned for sometime in January. We plan to have a platform evangelist from Salesforce.com present an introduction to VisualForce. I am also currently seeking volunteers and/or suggestions for other potential presentation topics for January.

Parking Instructions:

The 3300 Tower is located on the southwest corner of Central and Osborn (south of Indian School). You can access the parking garage from 2nd Ave and Osborn, head south, and follow road around to left. The garage is the first garage straight ahead, be sure to park in the one marked “3300 Tower” (we cannot validate for any other garage). You can park in any “Visitor” or non-marked space. Make your way to the building and use the left bank of elevators to go to the 9th floor. We will be meeting in the first room on your left as you exit the elevators.
