San Diego User Group Meeting - June 17, 2009

The next meeting of the Salesforce.com San Diego User Group is scheduled for Wed, June 17, 2009 from 7:30am- 9:30am.

Be there or be dirty!  Our topic is...

DirtySalesforeData

Data quality can be defined many ways.  The challenge all Salesforce users, small, medium or large instances, have is identifying dirty data from on-going sources, as well as incomplete and duplicate data throughout your entire instance.  Bill Jacaruso, Sr. Director / Pervasive Data Solutions will discuss the challenges and approaches to addressing dirty data and the cost of poor data quality both up and down the business process streams.  He’ll provide insight into strategies behind improving data quality in your organization and will demonstrate how this can be done utilizing two “free” application tools that our members can start using immediately.  One of these tools has not yet been release and we’ve negotiated an exclusive beta test offering to all of our San Diego Salesforce User Group members!!  Must attend to participate...sorry!

Date:  June 17, 2009 (Wednesday)

LOCATION                  San Diego, California

ORGANIZATION            With more than 14,500 members, Vistage International is the world’s foremost chief executive leadership organization, providing unparalleled access to new ideas and fresh thinking through monthly peer workshops, one-on-one business coaching, speaker presentations from hundreds of top industry experts, social networking and an extensive online content library of articles, best practices, podcasts and webinars.

This top executive network started from very humble beginnings over five decades ago. One October morning in 1957, a Wisconsin businessman named Robert Nourse met with four fellow chief executives in the office of the Milwaukee Valve Company to test a simple, yet revolutionary idea—share knowledge and experiences to help each other generate better results for their businesses.

Soon this group of businessmen was probing, asking questions and making suggestions. They challenged each other, working together to solve issues and grow. At that moment, TEC (The Executive Committee) was born.

Today, Vistage International (TEC’s successor) and its global affiliates operate in 16 countries. Members meet in small groups every month under the same guiding principles—to help one another make better decisions, achieve better results, and enhance their lives. They’re also connecting in ways Nourse could never have imagined, collaborating online, tapping into a vast content library, and learning from hundreds of top industry speakers.

Vistage-member companies generate nearly $300 billion in annual revenue and employ approximately 1.8 million employees around the world. Studies have shown that Vistage-member companies outperform their competitors and, on average, grow their revenues at three times the percentage growth rate after joining Vistage.

And, that’s exactly what Robert Nourse had in mind.

We invite you to visit our website at www.Vistage.com and learn more about the way in which we help our CEOs become better leaders, make better decisions, and achieve better results.

Come join our team.  We’re very excited to meet you!

Salesforce.com User Group Meeting - Fri April 3 @ noon

For our next meeting of the San Diego Salesforce.com User Group, we are moving to a different day of the week, a different time, and a different location

Friday, April 3rd, at the Omni Hotel, downtown - starting at noon.

The theme for the April 3rd meeting will be "Appexchange Applications, Tools, and Components that you can download for Free!"  We will have a speaker or two present free packages that they have made available on the appexchange.  We are also looking to hear from our members regarding what you may have downloaded (for free) that has benefited your Salesforce.com implemented.  If you have been successful using a program, component, or tool that you have downloaded and are willing to share your experience with others, please send me an email at rhonda.ross@audatex.com letting me know of your interest.

Once I hear back from some people, I will send out a more detailed agenda. The ending time for the meeting will depend on how many volunteers we get.  We have the room available to us until 3:00.

Due to the success of our "birds of a feather" breakouts during our last two meetings, we will be doing that again.  We are looking for volunteers to lead discussions on the following topics:

  • Administration - e.g., adoption, data management, change management
  • Service and Support - e.g. case management, SLAs, email-to-case
  • Marketing - e.g. web-to-lead, email marketing, lead scoring, event management
  • Development - e.g. moving from administrator to developer, useful tools

If you are willing to facilitate a discussion on one of these topics, please email me at rhonda.ross@audatex.com.

To RSVP for the meeting, send an email to rhonda.ross@audatex.com

It is important that you RSVP if you will be attending, as there will be a complementary lunch provided so we need an accurate headcount!

Why all these changes?  We wanted to make it convenient for those of you who may want to attend the CRM Essentials Seminar which Salesforce.com will be having at the Omni in the morning.  For further information on this event, please visit the event's website.  If the agenda looks interesting, feel free to register on the salesforce.com site.  However, since this seminar is geared toward people who are brand new to Salesforce CRM or still evaluating their options, you may find the content more “back to basics” than you’re looking for.

Either way, I hope you will be able to make it to the user group meeting and I look forward to seeing you there!
