Notes from Seattle Salesforce.com December User Group Meeting
We met at our new location at Twisted Pair Solutions in Seattle on Elliott Avenue.
Thanks to Georgie from Twisted Pair for volunteering the space. Her red cowboy boots made me instantly adore her.
We had 30 members at the meeting it was a wonderful turnout for our “new” year! Lisa Hoesel from References Online showed us their salesforce application. It is very cool way to share client conversations (aka interviews) with your prospects via video or sound recordings. Here is a link if you want to take a look http://www.references-online.com. We also discussed the format and ideas for future meetings. A couple of the ideas discussed were dividing the meeting into developer and business users sections, having sponsors (most members were in favor of having them), having an informal meeting on the off months, & holding online meetings. Barry showed slides from Dreamforce. My favorite was his Beard Papa slide because a member in the know told us that one just opened at Uwajimaya. They make the best cream puffs ever. We will have them at our February meeting for sure!
Here is our plan: we will meet formally every other month at Twisted Pair, these dates are listed below*. These will have a set topic and may or may include a sponsor presentation or a demo from a salesforce.com employee.
We will have an informal meeting the other months (see dates below**) where we can share issues and ideas over a beer. These will be held in various places around town. If you have a place to recommend for March, let us know. It is a good way to get something scheduled to suit your location! Speaking of letting us know – we would love to have some guest bloggers on our site. I have 2 queued up and will post them soon.
We are still working on the online meeting idea. Stay tuned!
Our first informal meeting will be held on Wednesday January 14th at King’s Hardware (a wonderful pub in Ballard) between 4:30 to 6:30. Save the date and plan to join us for some salesforce.com chat, sweet potato fries and skeeball. I will send a meeting invitation out next week.
