SF/Google Apps Integration...Wow

Candidly, I have developed into an absolute geek. Last night, when I finally researched, a little bit, of what this whole hubbub was about...I watched the live webcast. Much to my wife's delight, it was when we went to bed last night...45 minutes later, after many "holy crap" moments...I couldn't get to sleep. We use Yahoo IM a lot in our business, as we have people strung out all over MI. In the compliance-heavy SEC world, the integration of Google Apps for communications and my favorite...Gmail integration. We spent a good deal of today absorbing and attempting to integrate it. Google Talk is already ready to go, but I am not sure how. We cannot figure it all out yet, but hope to by the end of the week. Note to SF- tutorials would be AWESOME!!

That bring me to this: I think this unknown-to-me surprise of a launch is a great discuss point for the June meeting on June 26th at 3pm. What other points would you be interested in hearing about? I am planning on having Astadia share some best practices/tips/tricks for integrating this into your business. As a small business owner, this could change a huge amount of how we do business, from overhead costs, compliance, data cleansing, etc.

Please let me know what topics you are interested in hearing about, as I will make sure we get the appropriate speakers in to cover them.

Best,

Notes from the 1st W MI User Group Mtg.

The first meeting was a lot of fun, as a handful of users in the region were able to share about various Apps they are using, the stage of their implementation, and varying degrees of experience. Here are a couple of things we agreed to:

  • Meeting Frequency: bimonthly
  • Vendor Policy: 15 minutes max
  • Vendor Policy Continued: no pitches, this is a group for sharing best practices, not a prospecting list
  • User Group Mission: Establish environment for sharing, learning, and experiencing best practices as it relates to experiencing the highest ROI and user experience available through the SFDC platform.

We are planning on bringing in various specialists and consultants to share some tips on maximizing your time and value derived from SFDC (salesforce.com) during the next meeting. No

The next meeting will be in June, scheduled around the time of the Summer release. If you have suggestions on different options that you would like to learn about, there have been some SFDC partners that have offered their expertise to make sure we, as users, get the most from applications we are using and make good decisions on those we are considering. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or suggestions.
